on 2015-05-09. and the square was renamed New Triumphal Gates Square. What is now Belorussky railway station opened at the square in 1870 under the name of Smolensky station. It was renamed to Brest station after the line was extended, and again to Aleksandrovsky station after the building was redesigned. In May 1936 it was given its present name of Belorussky station. That year the square was redesigned and the arch removed; it is now at Victory Square. By 1950 Tverskaya Zastava Square had been laid out as a park. A bronze statue of
