Description
The length of the shell varies between 17 mm and 40 mm.
The imperforate, ventricose shell has an subovate-turreted shape with an acute
spire that is transversely sulcate. The five whorls are convex and are longitudinally slightly striated. The color pattern is white or yellow, radialately flammulated with red or brown. The apex has a green shine. The inside of the round
aperture is brightly white. A few whorls are tuberculate or covered with rather rough prickles. The tubercles form three or four rows on the
body whorl
The body whorl is part of the morphology of the shell in those gastropod mollusks that possess a coiled shell. The term is also sometimes used in a similar way to describe the shell of a cephalopod mollusk.
