Classification
The language is classified in the
Siberian Turkic languages. It is considered to be a
Northern Altai dialect. However, this classification is disputed, and it may be a
Kipchak language. The
Tubalars, aside from knowing Tubalar, also can understand
Chelkan and
Kumandin.
