Tetramethylazodicarboxamide (also known as TMAD and diamide) is a reagent used in biochemistry for Organic redox reaction, oxidation of thiols in proteins to Disulfide bond, disulfides. It has also been used as a reagent in the Mitsunobu reaction in place of diethyl azodicarboxylate.
