Avitzur's sculpture teacher was kinetic sculptor Ken Bortolazzo. Avitzur gathers materials for his sculptures from auto and marine salvage yards, scrap metal yards, garage and estate sales and flea markets. He disassembles, cleans, polishes and sorts the parts.
