History

The station was founded on April 21, 1986 as ''TV Globo Noroeste Paulista''. In 1998, it was renamed ''TV Progresso'' and on May 6, 2003, when it was acquired by the businessman José Hawilla, owner of Traffic Group, it received its current name.

Digital television

On September 20, 2012, the station started officially its digital transmissions, over UHF channel 26.

Transition to digital signal

The station turned off its analog signal, over VHF channel 2, on April 18, 2018, as part of the federally mandated transition from analog to digital television. The station's digital signal remains on its pre-transition UHF channel 26, using PSIP to display TV TEM São José do Rio Preto's virtual channel as 26 on digital television receivers.
