Development on the fifth season of ''Phineas and Ferb'' began in May 2023, at which point Povenmire confirmed the then-ongoing Writers Guild of America strike would not affect its production. Povenmire and Marsh admitted their concerns that they would have trouble coming up with new ideas for the revival, but explained those concerns were alleviated due to their confidence in the
