Career

Mishra started his career as a reporter in 1992. Later, he joined ''The Pioneer'' as a journalist and got trained under the senior editor Chandan Mitra. He has been a legislative and parliamentary correspondent since 1996, covering all the general election after that. He regularly writes columns on political and urban issues in dailies like, The New Indian Express, The Pioneer, The Millennium Post, The News18 and The First Post

In 2019, he edited a book on the similar theme of Delhi Political scenario titled, 'Delhi Political 1947-2013'. His chapter on "''Women Moving Mountains: a Eulogy for Contemporary Indian Women Activists''" gets published in book ''Gender and Popular Culture'', published by Cambridge Scholar Publishing. It is a paper based on "Mishra's more than a quarter-of-a-century-long experience as a newspaper reporter, allowing him to see Indian society evolve from very close quarters. The paper explores the evolution of Indian society especially in relation to the role of women". As an alumnus of RIMC, he co-edited a book with Retired Air Marshal PP Reddy, tilted '''Valour & Wisdom: 100 Years of Unparalleled Leadership''' which has been came out on 14 March 2022. This historical compendium informs readers about actual and exciting aspects of history based on a variety of facts, figures, and numbers that are typically unknown to readers. The book is fittingly authored by 26 Rimcollians and edited by Air Marshal PP Reddy & Mishra. He also use to edit the magazine of RIMC Old Boys Association.


Responsibilities

He has served three terms as chair of the governing bodies of Shaheed Bhagat Singh College, Shivaji College, and Maharaja Agrasen College (Delhi University). Also, he has been elected as the member to the Delhi University Court. He is serving as a chairperson of Research School and Journalism School of VIPS-TC.
