She is best known for her work with her colleague Poul Jessen's team at the University of Arizona to make the first ever observations of individual cesium atoms that showed the effect of chaos on quantum entanglement. Her research on quantum chaos was selected for the 2011 McGraw-Hill Yearbook of Science and Technology – an annual collection of breakthroughs in science and technology.
