History
The ancient and medieval city of
Cyrene was located nearby.

Libyan Civil War, the city was one of the first to fall under

Shahhat is linked with
Derna by two roads, the inner road running through
Al Qubah
Al Qubbah or El Gubba () is a town in eastern Libya. Once capital of Quba District.
It is the largest populated place between Derna and Bayda.

It was named after Giovanni Berta during the Italian colonial period.
