History

Connection to Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj Shahapur and its surrounding areas, particularly Mahuli Fort, hold historical significance. As per historical theories, Jijabai, the mother of Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj, was possibly pregnant with him while residing at Mahuli Fort. However, due to an attack by enemy forces, she had to flee the region, eventually giving birth to Shivaji Maharaj at Shivneri Fort.
