Occurring in Northern South America: Bolivia, Peru, Colombia, Ecuador, Venezuela, Guyana, Surinam, French Guiana and Brazil: in the river valleys of Amapa, Maranhao and Para. In the Caribbean area: Trinidad and Tobago.
