Early life and education

Netessine was born in Russia. In 1995 he graduated from Moscow Institute of Electronic Technology. As a Master of Science in Electrical Engineering he moved to the United States for doctoral studies in 1997. He graduated from the University of Rochester with a master's degree in Management Science in 2000 and with a doctoral degree in Operations Management in 2001.
