Established to serve as a cultural hub in the Negev desert, it plays a vital role in the community by offering a diverse range of film screenings, cultural events, and educational programs. Despite Sderot's proximity to the Gaza Strip and the challenges posed by frequent security concerns, the Cinematheque has become a symbol of resilience and a beacon for cultural enrichment in the region.It also screens the final projects of Sapir College film students.
