AdS/CFT In theoretical physics, the anti-de Sitter/conformal field theory correspondence, sometimes called Maldacena duality or gauge/gravity duality, is a conjectured relationship between two kinds of physical theories. On one side are anti-de Sitter s ...
. Many condensed matter systems, such as quantum dot coupled to topological superconducting wires, graphene flake with irregular boundary, and kagome optical lattice with impurities, are proposed to be modeled by it. Some variants of the model are amenable to digital quantum simulation, with pioneering experiments implemented in a NMR setting.

Majorana fermion A Majorana fermion (, uploaded 19 April 2013, retrieved 5 October 2014; and also based on the pronunciation of physicist's name.), also referred to as a Majorana particle, is a fermion that is its own antiparticle. They were hypothesised by Et ...
s \psi_1,\dotsc,\psi_n which are fermion operators satisfying conditions: # Hermitian \psi_i^=\psi_i; # Clifford relation \=2\delta_. Let J_ be random variables whose expectations satisfy: #\mathbf(J_)=0; #\mathbf(J_^2)=1. Then the SYK model is defined as :H_=i^\sum_J_\psi_\psi_\cdots\psi_. Note that sometimes an extra normalization factor is included. The most famous model is when m=4: :H_=-\frac\sum_^n J_\psi_\psi_\psi_\psi_, where the factor 1/4! is included to coincide with the most popular form.
