gene In biology, the word gene has two meanings. The Mendelian gene is a basic unit of heredity. The molecular gene is a sequence of nucleotides in DNA that is transcribed to produce a functional RNA. There are two types of molecular genes: protei ...

Clinical significance

Sodium-dependent phosphate transport protein 2b (NaPi2b) is a tumor-associated antigen. As of April 2023, upifitamab rilsodotin, an antibody-drug conjugate (ADC) targeting NaPi2b, is in Phase 3 clinical trials for recurrent platinum-sensitive ovarian cancer.
