Biography

Brown received his B.A. from the

in classical Greek with a minor in Near Eastern Studies. He then went on to receive his Ph.D. from

. He joined the faculty of BYU in 1971. From 1978-1979 he was a fellow of the American Research Center in Egypt. From 1993-1996 he was the director of the
