The city-forming enterprises are the Altai Tractor Plant, the Altai Agricultural Engineering Plant, and the Altai Tractor Electrical Equipment Plant. Later, other large enterprises were put into operation: Rubtsovsk Machine-Building Plant, Rubtsovsk Tractor Spare Parts Plant.
