The settlement, known under the German name of ''Neu Rosow'', was established in 1821-22 as a part of Rosow. It gained significance only at the end of World War II. After crossing the Oder River, the passing front did not spare Rosówek, which became the site of the bloody battle for Szczecin. The surrounding areas were also affected by the first post-war correction of the Borders of Poland, western border of Poland and the defining of the
