History

The municipality of Rietz-Neuendorf was formed on 31 December 2001 by merging the municipalities of Ahrensdorf, Birkholz, Buckow, Drahendorf, Görzig, Groß Rietz, Herzberg, Neubrück (Spree), Pfaffendorf, Sauen and Wilmersdorf. From 1815 to 1947, the constituent localities of Rietz-Neuendorf were part of the
