Personal life

Darby is the youngest of five children and was raised by a single mother. He had a close relationship with his sister Linda, who helped raise him after his father left. He met his future wife and manager, Rosie Carnahan, while performing stand-up comedy at her café in Christchurch. The couple married in 2004 and have two sons together.
