Geography

Rebstein has an area, , of . Of this area, 60.4% is used for agricultural purposes, while 7.9% is forested. Of the rest of the land, 30.6% is settled (buildings or roads) and the remainder (1.2%) is non-productive (rivers or lakes). The municipality is located in the Rheintal ''Wahlkreis''. It stretches from the ''Rheintaler Binnenkanal'' (a flood control canal on the Rhine) to the Appenzell foot hills.
