A possible second species ''Reboulia queenslandica'' (Stephani) M. Hicks was published in 1992,
but it was later determined to be a
polyploid

Riccardin C is a phenolic cyclic bibenzyl secondary metabolite isolated from ''R. hemisphaerica'',
as is marchantinquinone.
