Valence Shell Electron Pair Repulsion (VSEPR) model of Molecular Geometry, which he developed with
Ronald Nyholm (and thus is also known as the Gillespie-Nyholm theory), and setting the rules for assigning numbers. He has written several books on this VSEPR topic in
