Biography

Qanate Kurdo was born in the village of
Susuz Susuz (, , ) is a town in Kars Province in the Eastern Anatolia region of Turkey. It is the seat of Susuz District.
, then part of the Kars oblast of the Russian Empire, now located in Turkey. Along with other Kurds, his family fled Ottoman oppression in 1918 (Kars oblast was ceded to the Ottomans in March of that year) and settled in the Aparan district of Armenia. The Turkish invasion of Armenia caused them to flee again, this time to
