Pradiphat is one of the oldest streets of Bangkok, classified as a residential area. It was originally called ''"Patiphat Phuban Road"'' (ถนนปฏิพัทธ์ภูบาล) after the nobleman Phraya Patiphat Phuban (Khoyule na Ranong), nephew of Phraya Ratsadanupradit Mahitsaraphakdi, who used to have land that the road ran through.
