She died on August 18, 2018, after battling cancer. She is survived by her seven children - Junior Atanraoi Zackious, Ulutapu Thomas Zackious, Tabita (Kaitamwakin) Awira, Famelea Joan Awerika, Tanieru Awerika, Maerientaake Awerika and Violet Awerika.
