. He graduated from the Prague Film Academy of Performing Arts in 1953. Translated by Martin Votruba. He was given the Igric Award for Lifetime Achievement in 1994, and in 2004 he was awarded the Prize of the Slovak Minister of Culture for Extraordinary Creative Contribution to Slovak Cinema.
