Taxonomy

Two species are known, ''Peritresius ornatus'' (Leidy, 1856) and ''P. martini'' Gentry, Parham, Ehret, and Ebersole, 2018, both from Campanian-Maastrichtian age deposits in New Jersey, Alabama, and Mississippi.Leidy J.
