Early life

Patrick Joseph A. Dowling was born in Sandymount, Dublin on 23 March 1939. He was educated at

, graduating in 1960 with a degree in civil engineering.


Career

Dowling then went to work at

Dowling was married to Grace Lobo, an Indian from Zanzibar, who in 2004 became the first
