mountain range. During the British colonial era, several explorers and surveyors documented their journeys through the Karakoram region, including observations of the Passu Glacier. These accounts provide valuable historical insights into the glacier's condition and the surrounding area's geography during that period. Notable Historical Accounts Mentioning Passu Glacier Major W. R. F. Trevelyan and Captain M. H. Berkeley (1932) In May 1932, Major Trevelyan and Captain Berkeley conducted examinations of several glaciers in the Hunza Valley, including the Passu Glacier. Their observations noted that the glacier appeared "healthy," with clean white ice extending close to its snout. They also reported that a cairn erected in 1930 remained intact, indicating minimal change in the glacier's position over the two-year period. The earliest known reference to the Passu and Batura Glaciers comes from the 1925 expedition led by Dutch geographer and explorer Dr. Philips Christiaan Visser and his wife, Jenny Visser-Hooft. Their journey is detailed in the book Among the Kara-Korum Glaciers in 1925, published in 1926. During this expedition, the Vissers established a camp at Passu in early June and surveyed approximately two-thirds of the Passu Glacier. They then proceeded to
