Personal life

In 1961 he married Evi Esko (29 October 1931 – 2 January 1992), daughter of the teachers Roman Esko and Elsa Tammik. They divorced in 1981 and in 1989 Ullsten married Louise Beaudoin (born 1954). Ullsten died on 28 May 2018 at the age of 86 after an unspecified illness. At the time of his death, he had four children and three grandchildren.


Awards

Ullsten was awarded the
