closed in 2020. On May 16, 2024, Burlington announced that they would be opening a new location at the south end of the mall where the old Sears once resided. At the time, renovations were only at early stages. On August 12, 2024, renovations were halted after a notice by the City of Salinas was issued. The notice stated that no work was to be done until cleared by building officials. The reason for the renovation's stop was because of concrete which had been poured on top of underground works without proper inspection. Renovations are expected to continue after the proper inspections and approvals are obtained.Notice by the City of Salinas to Stop Work immediately. Issued August 12, 2024
