Geographically, the settlement known as "Naupada" is called Khaspanaupada. Since a few years ago, 1.5 to 2 crore Quintas of salt were produced annually by the Naupada people. The majority of the farmers are unable to pay it because they must work hard and lose money as a result of the market downturn, massive output, labor costs, and diesel prices.
