Muzaffar began his career in the Forest Department of Madhya Pradesh as a Lecturer in the Urdu Department. Later, he joined the faculty of Urdu at

The International Urdu Movement (IURM), a non-profit organization based in India that works to promote the language of Urdu, has decided to establish a Global Prize in the name of the Muzaffar Hanfi. The Prize will be awarded to an individual in the field of Urdu literature.
