Mukesh attended Infant Jesus Anglo-Indian School in Kollam. He then pursued a bachelor's degree in science (B.Sc.) from Sree Narayana College, Kollam. He also holds a second bachelor's degree in law from The Kerala Law Academy Law College, Thiruvananthapuram. Mukesh was active in stage dramas before he entered the film industry.


Acting career

Mukesh made his acting debut in 1982 with the film ''Balloon''.
