Family

Mubukwanu was a son of the Chief Mulambwa Santulu and grandson of Chief Mwanawina I. His younger brother was Chief Silumelume, successor of their father. According to Mutumba Mainga, Mubukwanu was the father of Sipopa Lutangu.
