Later games in the series went on to fill out the gaps and became more of a true representation of the season/s they covered. This first installment is also notable for the inclusion of Klonoa, the titular character of another Namco series, who appears as a playable guest character.


Reception

The game received "generally favorable reviews" according to the review aggregation website Metacritic. In Japan, '' Famitsu'' gave it a score of 35 out of 40. David Chen of '' NextGen'' said: "It's fast and in-depth enough to satisfy the armchair 500cc-class racer, but it certainly doesn't fit the bill of 'fun for the whole gang.'"
