History

In 2012 the project was awarded to a consortium of Corsán-Coviam Construcción and Isolux Ingeniería as well as
Alstom Alstom SA () is a French multinational rolling stock manufacturer which operates worldwide in rail transport markets. It is active in the fields of passenger transportation, signaling, and locomotives, producing high-speed, suburban, regional ...
(28 %). Construction work began in September 2013 and was planned to finish in 2016. But because of financial problems of Corsán-Coviam Construcción the project had to be reawarded to Cosider Travaux Publics, Cosider Ouvrages d'Art and Alstom. First test drives were published in 2021.


Current network

The central hub of the network is formed by the ''Gare de Mostaganem'' stop at the railway station of the city. Here terminates line T2 which connects to a

Rolling stock

The network operates 25 seven car low-floor trams of the

402 series. They were built in
