History

The Faculty was established as ''Faculty of Computing and Information Technology'' in 1990 following a merger between Monash University and the
Chisholm Institute of Technology Monash University, Caulfield campus is a campus of Monash University located in Caulfield East, Victoria, Caulfield East, which is a suburb of Melbourne, Australia, in the state of Victoria (Australia), Victoria. The campus comprises 13,400 stu ...
, later it was renamed to the Faculty of Information Technology. It was founded by Clifford John Bellamy, who became the founding dean and left the office in 1996.


Structure

The Faculty at Monash University's Clayton campus operates three distinct departments, each offering a range of undergraduate, graduate, and certification programs. In addition to these departments, the Faculty is home to several specialized research labs and also hosts a number of research centres and institutes.
