History
Meauzac has a vivid history spanning from the Roman era to the modern day. It started out when a Gallo-Roman villa was built up, and villagers were attracted to the area due to the fertility of the area, being next to the
Tarn river. The village was pillaged around the year 407 CE.
In May 1369, the English arrived at Meauzac and besieged the castle. After negotiations took place, Meauzac decreed it would pledge allegiance to the
Prince of Wales
