Marilyn and Rosalyn Borden were born in Hartford, Connecticut on May 29, 1932, to Harry (1906–1973) and Elizabeth Borden (1909–1995) and would be followed by a younger sister, Barbara, in 1945. Marilyn was married to Herman Theodore "Ted" Thiel Jr. from March 2, 1968, until his death on December 4, 2007. The couple had no children together. But she did have a stepson Herman " Ted" Thiel III and 6 step grandchildren- Shawna Thiel, David Vargas, Lori Flores (Thiel), Naomi Thiel, Herman Thiel IV and Shelby Carr. Along with 13 great grandchildren.
