announced the appointment of Jacquot as its next principal guest conductor (''Erste Gastdirigentin''), the first female conductor to be named to the post, effective with the 2023–2024 season. Jacquot first guest-conducted the WDR Symphony Orchestra in December 2022. In January 2024, the orchestra announced the appointment of Jacquot as its next chief conductor, effective with the 2026–2027 season, with an initial contract of 4 years. Jacquot is the first female conductor to be named chief conductor of the WDR Symphony Orchestra. On 29 February 2024, Jacquot was announced as the 2024 ''Révélation cheffe d'orchestre'' during the 31st "Victoires de la Musique Classique" ceremony.
