She underwent surgery following the U.S. Championships in January 2005 and was off the ice for four months. The pair won the bronze medal at the 2005 U.S. Championships and silver in 2006. They were selected to represent the United States at the 2006 Winter Olympics, where they finished 13th. The pair then placed 11th at the 2006 World Championships. Hinzmann ended her competitive career on May 30, 2006, and went on to skate professionally with Lee Harris on cruise ships and in gala shows.
