At the heart of MOPITT lies the optical system, which is composed of two identical "mirror imaged" optical tables that include the calibration sources, scan mirrors, choppers, LMCs, PMCs, modulators, and dewar cooler assemblies containing cold optics and thermal and solar detectors.
