Career

Álvarez made his ATP main draw debut after receiving a wildcard for the doubles main draw of the 2023 Los Cabos Open. Álvarez made his singles debut in the main draw of the 2025 Los Cabos Open. This marked the first time in the nine editions of the tournament in Los Cabos there were four Mexicans in the singles main draw. He defeated James McCabe in the first round to record his first ATP win outside of the Davis Cup.
