JAC Liner started in April 1987 as a sole proprietorship operating two second hand buses along

Absorption from former subsidiaries

Lucena Lines absorbed some bus companies which were once bought by JAC Liner, and became JAC's subsidiary. The buses from these former subsidiaries are now managed and repainted under the name of Lucena Lines. They were: * Green Star Express Inc. * Laguna Express Inc.

. However, in 2010, the Popeye logo wasn't used anymore. All Lucena Lines units were updated to their red, yellow and white spherical livery until it was simplified in 2013. In 2013, Lucena Lines started using its abbreviation "LLI" in their livery, while it started using the JAC Liner logo for their livery in 2016. With the simplified name, riders often dubbed them "Lu Li".
