Local Chronicles Publishing House was officially established in 1995 under the National Local Gazetteers Leadership Group ( zh, 中国地方志领导小组). In 1995, Li Tieying was designated as the leader of the group and orchestrated the planning of Local Chronicles Publishing House. It is tasked with the publication of diverse local gazetteers throughout provinces, cities, and counties, encompassing theoretical treatises on gazetteers, reference volumes, local yearbooks, regional statistics, studies on local history and culture, and popular-format publications.
