Allen was drafted early in the second round by the
New York Liberty

but she was the final cut as the Liberty cut down their roster to the limit. Because she was cut, she was able to finish her final week of college and participate in the graduation ceremonies. Before she could even unpack she got a call from the Liberty asking her to return to the team.
