Career
A New York native, Davis appeared in his first film in 1916. He began to achieve fame after arriving at Columbia Pictures, appearing in several
Three Stooges shorts including ''
Slippery Silks'', ''
Dizzy Doctors'' and ''
Three Little Sew and Sews''. His most memorable appearance was as a con man in ''
Cash and Carry'' and ''
Playing the Ponies''. A versatile character actor, Lewis often appeared as villains, waiters, soldiers, lawyers, et al.

Death
Davis died of a gastric hemorrhage on January 13, 1948, in Inglewood, California
